Coke Slushie

A Coke slushie is a cold, icy beverage made by freezing soda in a way that maintains a scoopable, slushy texture. The process involves freezing Coke carefully to prevent solid blocks, resulting in a fizzy, slightly caramel-colored treat with a smooth, crushed ice appearance. The final product is playful and refreshing, perfect for hot days or spontaneous fun.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Coca-Cola chilled

Equipment

  • Freezer-safe container
  • Spoon or fork

Method

  1. Pour the chilled Coke into a freezer-safe container, leaving some space at the top to allow for expansion.
  2. Place the container in the freezer and set a timer for 30 minutes.
  3. After 30 minutes, remove the container and gently stir or scrape the semi-frozen edges toward the center with a fork or spoon. This helps break up ice crystals and maintains a scoopable texture.
  4. Return the container to the freezer and continue freezing for another 30 minutes, repeating the stirring process every 30 minutes, up to 2–3 times total. The goal is to create a granular, slushy texture that isn’t fully frozen solid.
  5. Once the Coke has reached a consistent, icy but scoopable consistency, remove it from the freezer. The surface should look slushy and slightly granular, with no large ice blocks remaining.
  6. Use a spoon or fork to scoop the chilled Coke into glasses. The texture should be soft, icy, and fizzy, perfect for a refreshing sip.

Notes

For an extra touch, add a splash of cherry syrup or a twist of lemon zest before freezing for added flavor.
